Principal Dr. Cary Fields
My name is Dr. Cary Fields and I am the proud principal of Rahway High School. I have been an educator for over 20 years and held several positions including teacher, supervisor, vice principal and principal. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Kean University in 2001, a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from New Jersey City University in 2006 and a Doctoral Degree from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Leadership in 2013. I began my career in the Rahway Public School District in 2010 as the Program Supervisor of STEM. I served in this role for one year before becoming a vice-principal at Rahway High School. After several years, I had the privilege of becoming the principal at Roosevelt Elementary School. In 2020, I eagerly accepted the position of principal of Rahway High School.
My experiences have provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and enhancing students’ well-being. My educational philosophy is based on my uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. I am thrilled to lead our school community, as we continue to strive towards reaching our goals and celebrate our many accomplishments. Welcome!
Vice Principal of Guidance
Dr. Michael Celoski
Dr. Celoski began his educational career in the Rahway Public School District in 2001 as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Rahway Middle School. He spent six years teaching before accepting his first vice principal position at Rahway Middle School from 2007 to 2010. He then returned to the classroom to teach social studies at Rahway Middle School from 2010 to 2015 and at Rahway High School from 2015 to 2022. Starting in the 2022-23 school year, Dr. Celoski proudly returns to being a vice principal once again, serving as a vice principal at Rahway High School working with the high school’s outstanding guidance department.
Dr. Celoski received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Monmouth University in 1998. He then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Teaching in 2000 and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2004. Most recently, Dr. Celoski received his Doctoral Degree in Education Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University in 2018. His dissertation focused on informal teacher evaluation and is titled “Improving Instructional Practice Via Walkthrough Implementation: A Superintendent Centered Perspective.”
Vice Principal
Mr. Carl Darius
Mr. Darius earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University. He taught mathematics at the sixth through eighth grade level for eight years from 2013 to 2020. Mr. Darius joined the Rahway educational system in 2019 working as a math teacher in Roosevelt Elementary School. After earning his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, Mr. Darius was promoted to Vice Principal of Rahway High School for the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Darius has been formally trained to work with the Connected Action Roadmap (CAR Model), which helps bring purpose to the professional learning communities (PLC’s) within a school community.
Vice Principal
Mr. Dawe Peralta
Dawe Peralta has devoted his career to education, with nearly two decades of experience in the field. He began his career as an educator with the Edison Public Schools District, where he taught Spanish for 5 years. He then moved to the Rahway Public School District and instantly felt a connection with the students, their families, and the community.
Mr. Peralta taught Spanish in Rahway High School and at Rahway’s Alternative School, and developed a track record of excellence. He launched the Rahway High School AP Spanish program in 2013, successfully instilling a unique approach of learning to his students. The program has thrived since its inception with the highest passing rate in the district. Mr. Peralta's unparalleled approach to education earned him recognition as “Rahway High School Teacher of the Year” in 2018.
Mr. Peralta is a native of Irvington, New Jersey, and graduated from Irvington High School before attending Seton Hall University for his undergraduate studies. He went on to earn his Masters Degree from St. Peter's University in Educational Leadership. Mr. Peralta is a firm supporter of Horace Mann’s belief that education is the great equalizer, and he strives daily to impart that mentality in his students and school culture.
